Obtaining an apprentice
Once you are registered as a host, a phone call is usually all that is
necessary for you to organise an apprentice. To ensure proper training
for the apprentice, a period of approximately three months can be
considered as a minimum allocation. Two weeks notice should be given to
return an apprentice who is no longer required.
The maximum period that an apprentice can remain with one host trainer
varies widely and depends on the competency exposure and categories
available in the different trade skills. Apprentices often remain with
the one host for the duration of the apprenticeship. NECA Group Training
may also negotiate the movement of an apprentice to ensure appropriate
exposure to the various skills required in the trade.
